Abstract

The main problem faced in SMP IT is that developing soft skills in students is not an easy job for teachers in carrying out their daily activities. This condition is based on limited reading materials and exercises that provide inspiration regarding practices that can develop students' soft skills. The aim of this research is to find out how to apply the human character through the development of soft skills in SMP IT. This research method uses quantitative methods by conducting online surveys and in-depth interviews. The results of this research explain that developing soft skills in students is not an easy thing, but based on reading and inspiring exercises, human character will be formed. The conclusion of this research is that the application of human character through the development of soft skills in SMP IT is very important, so that opportunities are opened for students to have the skills needed in the future to build civilization and work as professionals. The limitation of this research is that the researcher only conducted research on how to apply our human character through developing soft skills in IT Middle Schools only. The researcher hopes that future researchers will carry out the same research but develop it in all schools, both elementary, middle and high school.
