Inovasi Pendidikan Humanis Melalui Strategi Seeing How It Is

Kebutuhan akan pendidikan yang tidak hanya fokus pada aspek kognitif tetapi juga membangun kesadaran sosial dan kemanusiaan menjadi semakin mendesak. Strategi Seeing How It Is hadir sebagai pendekatan yang mendorong siswa untuk melihat dan memahami realitas sosial secara langsung, reflektif, dan kritis, sejalan dengan prinsip pendidikan humanis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas strategi Seeing How It Is dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran humanis, serta mengeksplorasi dampaknya terhadap partisipasi, kesadaran sosial, dan sikap reflektif siswa. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Subjek terdiri dari satu kelas di tingkat SMP yang mengikuti pembelajaran berbasis observasi realitas, diskusi kelompok, dan refleksi tertulis selama lima pertemuan. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, jurnal refleksi, dan dokumentasi pembelajaran. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa siswa lebih aktif dan mampu mengaitkan materi pelajaran dengan pengalaman nyata. Strategi ini mendorong empati, kepedulian sosial, serta meningkatkan kualitas dialog dan keterlibatan siswa dalam kelas. Guru juga mengamati perubahan positif pada sikap dan cara berpikir siswa. Strategi Seeing How It Is terbukti efektif dalam membumikan prinsip pendidikan humanis secara praktis di kelas. Penelitian ini menawarkan pendekatan baru dalam pembelajaran nilai dan karakter berbasis pengalaman nyata yang dapat diadaptasi dalam berbagai mata pelajaran dan jenjang pendidikan.
